The Chicago Bears have added yet another player to their roster, this time tabbing Beanie Bishop.
Bishop is a veteran cornerback, who began his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He seen his career hit a stalled patch of late, but the opportunity with the Bears is there amid the injuries to their secondary.
The Bears and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen are down multiple players at cornerback and safety.

Bishop, 26, is a former undrafted free agent, but the newest Bears defensive back started six games and played in all 17 regular-season contests for the Steelers as a rookie during the 2024 campaign.
For his career, Bishop has 45 total tackles, 4 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, and 0.5 sacks.
Undersized for the perimeter at 5-foot-9, Bishop profiles as a substitute for injured starting nickelback Kyler Gordon and backups Cam Lewis and Jaylon Jones.
To make room for Bishop, the Bears cut second-year long-snapper Luke Elkin. Elkin was in competition with rookie and fellow former undrafted free agent Beau Gardner. Gardner appears to have won the job, at least for now.

The Bears have also lost starting free safety Coby Bryant to an injury, further underscoring the need for roster additions like Bishop, who could have a ripple effect if and when Bryant is able to return, assuming that is before Gordon and/or Jones.
At safety, the Bears signed two players with NFL experience: Brandon Hill and Xavier Woods, while also adding UDFA William Wright at corner.
The good news for the Bears is that all of this is happening early.
So long as the bleeding stops, they have plenty of time to get their newcomers up to speed and, hopefully, get some of their injured players back in the fold. It is hardly an ideal situation, but one that could certainly be far worse.
