The Chicago Bears are not done adding to their roster in the wake of several injuries in their secondary, leading to them adding Brandon Hill and begin the process of cutting ties with two others.
Hill is a former draft pick of the Houston Texans and was part of an extensive list of tryouts for the Bears on Friday. He initially got passed over for Xavier Woods, but it appears the Bears have doubled back.
Hill has appeared in two regular-season contests in his career.

“The #Bears have signed DB Brandon Hill and DB William Wright and have waived DB K.C. Eziomume and DB Gervarrius Owens with an Injury designation,” the Bears announced in a post on X on August 8.
Hill, who turns 26 in September, has yet to record a stat. Hill was the 248th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has primarily been a special teams contributor in his career so far. He has had stops with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders, alternating with two separate stints in Houston with the Texans.
The Bears are currently without starter Coby Bryant and top backup Elijah Hicks.
They also saw versatile super sub Cam Lewis exit practice early on Saturday. That was after adding the new trio of safeties in free agency before the session.
The Bears navigated significant injuries in their secondary last season and still managed 11 wins. They face a tougher slate of opponents this season (at least on paper), making every setback seem more impactful. Time will tell if the Bears feel the need to make more roster moves, but the need for camp bodies is quite real.
The Bears are also short on cornerbacks.
Starting nickel Kyler Gordon and reserves Jaylon Jones and Terell Smith are both out. Meanwhile, the Bears have at least begun the process of parting ways with Eziomume and Dallis Flowers (waived injured).
