The Chicago Bears have continued to add to their roster.
Following their rookie minicamp, the Bears announced the signing of six players for the 90-man offseason roster. Among them were two veterans. In that group was former Seattle Seahawks sixth-round wideout Freddie Swain.

Freddie Swain Joins Crowded Bears WR Room
Swain joined the Miami Dolphins practice squad last August but did not see a snap in the regular season. He played in four games in 2022 split between the Dolphins and Denver Broncos, with one start and four catches.
But he finished the year with 74 yards.
The 6-foot Swain caught 25 passes for 343 yards and four touchdowns in 2021 and has a history with Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. He joins a revamped wide receiver room that also added Keenan Allen via trade and Rome Odunze in the draft.
The Bears also added former Buffalo Bills fifth-round tight end Tommy Sweeney. The 6-foot-5 tight end has 18 grabs for 164 yards and one touchdown in his career. He did not see a snap in the 2023 regular season either.
Sweeney would at least be behind Cole Kmet and Gerald Evertte in the pecking order.

John Jackson – WR
A 6-foot-1 wideout who spent last season at Nevada but played with Williams at USC in 2022, when the quarterback won the Heisman. Jackson had 267 yards on 35 receptions for the Wolf Pack last season.
Leon Jones – CB
Bears confirmed the signing we previously updated.
Paul Moala – LB
Moala made good on his rookie invite which we previously reported.
Dashaun Mallory – DL
A local product who began his college career at Michigan State, Mallory recorded 2.0 sacks and 10 tackles for loss last season for the Arizona State Sun Devils.
He too joins a crowded tackle room that runs eight players deep at this point of the offseason.
In addition to incumbents Andrew Billings, Gervon Dexter Sr., and Zacch Pickens, the Bears are converting offensive lineman Bill Murray to defensive tackle. They also added veterans Byron Cowart and Michael Dwumfor and signed UDFAs Jamree Kromah and Keith Randolph Jr.
