The Chicago Bears were off on Monday, but there was plenty of buzz to go around the team as they prepare for the final week of the preseason, including a player stepping away from the game.
The Bears are also set to reveal their new duds on Tuesday, so they teased us today.
Finally, the Bears could be in line to get some reinforcements, but questions still exist around key parts of their roster as the 2026 cutdown deadline (August 31 this year) and Week 1 of the regular season approach.

Ex-Bears Send Messages as Allen Robinson Announces Career News
The Bears signed Allen Robinson in free agency during the 2018 offseason, and he spent four years with the organization before leaving the same way in 2022. On Monday, Robinson decided to hang up his cleats.
“As I reflect on another year of life, I find myself especially grateful; not just for where I am, but for the journey that brought me here. This birthday feels a little different. It marks not only another year, but the beginning of a new chapter,” Robinson said in the caption of a video posted on Instagram on August 24.
“To every love story, there comes a final chapter. Football gave me more than I ever could’ve imagined. It challenged me, shaped me, humbled me, and rewarded me in ways I’ll carry for the rest of my life.”
Robinson continued, “I came, I saw, I conquered and I leave with nothing but gratitude,” adding, “The memories, the relationships, the victories, the lessons, they’ll stay with me forever!”
He signed off with more appreciation and “love and gratitude.”
“This dope bro congrats gang [saluting emoji],” former Bears safety Eddie Jackson posted in he comments of Robinson’s post.
Ex-Bears RB Tarik Cohen posted, “S*** was hard af . [flame emoji] you def one of the best i done seen wit my eyes [handshake emoji] Congrats !”
“Job well done bro [saluting emoji],” fellow former Bears back Jordan Howard said.
Ex-Bears safety Adrian Amos said, “[flame emojis] legend,” while former cornerback Prince Amukamara posted, “1 of 1!!!!! My dog [flame emojis].”
Robinson, who turned 34 on Monday, was a second-round pick, taken 61st overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft. The 2015 Pro Bowler also played for Bears head coach Ben Johnson and WRs coach Antwaan Randle El with the Detroit Lions.
That was in 2024, his last time on the field.
He had stints with the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers, too. Robinson finishes his career with 565 receptions, 7,058 yards, and 43 touchdowns in his career.
Bears Tease Rivalry Uniforms
The Bears followed suit with their fellow NFC North clubs, as well as those in the AFC South, in dropping teaser videos for the reveal of their Rivalry uniform set. Last year, the NFC West and AFC East got their sets.
There has been few leaks about what the new look might entail.
The Bears had Caleb Williams, Coby Bryant, Colston Loveland, Kyle Monangai, and Rome Odunze reacting in their video. However, there was also a well-placed “redacted” graphic over the uni.
The Athletic’s Jonathan Jones, then with CBS Sports, first broke the news of the Bears’ timeline for their new uniforms in April 2025. And yet, the Bears have been able to keep slips–again, nothing has been verified.
They did, however, also shared a dark-themed teaser with a player in the shadows of a cape.
The Bears will surely take full advantage of release day. Expect to see social media timelines flooded with pictures of those and the other rivalry sets.
Bears Could Get Reinforcements
On Monday, the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs wrote that the Bears could get 2025 second-round draft pick Shemar Turner back from injury. That will not be until some time in October, though.
The Bears have not gotten much return in their investment in Turner, the 62nd overall pick of the 2025 draft.
Turner played in five games as a rookie after dealing with injuries last offseason.
The Bears have poured resources into their defensive line. That made last season’s poor showing from the unit as a whole all the more disappointing. They are largely banking on the same group stepping up or someone surprising them for a rebound in 2026.
