Bears Rewind: Noah Sewell Talks Ben Johnson, Brothers & More

Noah Sewell, Chicago Bears

The 2025 season was already the best yet for Chicago Bears linebacker Noah Sewell, but it was unfortunately cut short before he could see it through.

He received his first snaps as a starter this past season, logging nine of them and playing in 13 games in total. He recorded 59 total tackles. The games played tied his previous career high, which he set as a rookie, while his combined stops set a new best.

Sewell spoke candidly ahead of the campaign.

Clocker Sports Podcast Rewind: Bears Noah Sewell

Sewell is a former fifth-round pick, taken 148th overall by the Bears in the 2023 NFL Draft. Injuries have held him back, with this year’s setback keeping him from completing a full regular-season slate in his career for the third straight campaign.

He addressed his desire to remain on the field during a conversation with Clocker Sports ahead of this past season, including his family ties and new then-head coach Ben Johnson.

Sewell made a positive impression with his demeanor, playing style, and versatility.

However, his injury history will bring his future into question. He ruptured his Achilles tendon in Week 17, putting his timeline for return deep into the 2026 season. At that point, he will need to work his way back into game shape.

The Bears will not need to cut ties with Sewell. Putting him on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list will remove him from their 53-man roster count.

The Bears drafted Ruben Hyppolite II in the fourth-round of the 2025 draft. He played sparingly as a rookie, but could have the inside track on Sewell’s starting strongside spot.
