The Chicago Bears may not be without Caleb Williams for long, if at all, following his hamstring injury in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings.
“Bears QB Caleb Williams avoided any major injury to his hamstring Sunday, tests confirmed today — and the team isn’t even ruling him out for next Monday’s game against the Eagles, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports,” The Ringer and Netflix’s Tom Pelissero reported in a post on X on September 21.
“A massive sigh of relief in Chicago.”
Williams pulled up in the fourth quarter during a scramble away from Vikings linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel. He let out a scream in pain and required assistance to get back to the sideline and into the blue medical tent.

Bears QB Caleb Williams Avoids Major Injury
Williams finally emerged from the tent after some examination with a towel over his head. He removed it and gave a thumbs up and fist pump to the fans in attendance.
Bears head coach Ben Johnson expressed gratitude that it was not a knee injury.
Several of Williams’ Bears teammates expressed similar thoughts of relief in the aftermath. The Bears also touted their faith in Tyson Bagent, but reports from the locker room also noted that Williams was walking under his own power without incident and in good spirits.
Pelissero’s report backs that up, but Johnson’s update later today will provide further clarity on the situation the Bears face heading into Week 3.
The head coach spoke with Jeff Joniak on ESPN 1000 before that, calling Williams week-to-week and expecting him to miss some time.
