Per NBC Philly’s Dave Zangaro on March 29, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman told reporters on hand for the league meeting in Arizona that they were signing Tryon-Shoyinka to a one-year contract.
Tryon-Shoyinka confirmed the news a short while later on his personal social media.
“[Eagle emoji] Fly Eagles Fly [eagle emoji],” Tryon-Shoyinka captioned a screenshot of an aggregated report. “Thankful!!!”
The Bears sent a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft, No. 206 overall, to the Browns for Tryon-Shoyinka and a seventh-rounder. The selection the Bears got in return, No. 239 overall, originally belonged to the Eagles.
Tryon-Shoyinka and the Eagles will visit the Bears at some point during the 2026 season.

Tryon-Shoyinka, who turns 27 in April, had 13 total tackles in eight games with the Bears. He was not part of the postseason rotation after suffering a concussion in the regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions.
The 32nd overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Tryon-Shoyinka has 160 combined stops, 15.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 recovery in his five-year career.
Tryon-Shoyinka returns to a 3-4 base front like he played in with the Buccaneers.
Terms of this new deal have yet to be disclosed publicly. Tryon-Shoyinka was coming off a one-year, $4.7 million contract that he signed with the Browns in free agency during the 2025 offseason. He has $15.9 million in career earnings so far.
Tryon-Shoyinka’s exit highlights the Bears’ inaction at defensive end this offseason, where speculation had them linked to moves like trading for Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby.
Current sentiments call for a first-rounder to elevate the group via the draft.
The Bears are high on 2024 fifth-round pick Austin Booker, per The Chicago Sun-Times’ Brad Biggs. They also expect 2025 free agent pick Dayo Odeyingbo to be back healthy. The Bears envisioned Odeyingbo as a base end/sub-package tackle.
That would leave room for Booker on obvious passing downs, with Montez Sweat the constant. The question will remain if the Bears have done enough until something changes.
