Bears Will Stay Aggressive

NFL teams have to trim their roster down to 53 players from the 90-man roster they were allowed to have throughout training camp by 3 P.M. ET on August 29. The league used to have rounds of cutdowns. But they changed that rule to allow for one massive cutdown at the conclusion of the preseason.

There will be a large swath of players to hit the waiver wire between now and the start of the regular season.

Bears HC Gets Candid About Roster Cutdowns Ahead of Preseason Finale

General manager Ryan Poles has already said his front office will continue being aggressive in seeking out upgrades for the roster. He also specifically mentioned this period around the league as a “busy couple days” for them as they work towards that.
