Bears Starter Name-Dropped In New Insider Trade Intel

DJ Moore, Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are still trying to gather themselves following the sudden and unexpected retirement of Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman. However, there are other areas of need to address on their roster.

By all accounts, the Bears plan to be as aggressive as they can. General manager Ryan Poles has openly spoken about also spending wisely.

The good news is that the Bears could do both.

Bears Linked to Multiple Offseason Trades

DJ Moore Named in New Bears Trade Intel

The Bears have been linked to multiple trades for players on their roster, including wide receiver DJ Moore. Moore has said he wants to be back in Chicago. But his contract could make him useful in a trade. Meanwhile, Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby continues to be linked to the Bears.

“Multiple sources indicate the Chicago Bears are a team to watch in potentially dealing for Crosby. The Bears aren’t the only team with interest in Crosby — the Dallas Cowboys are lurking, according to sources — but they could be best positioned to do a deal if one can be done. The new league year begins March 11,” CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported in an article on March 4.

“The Bears have their normal allotment of draft picks for 2026, but Chicago can still be aggressive to land a top-tier player thanks to having one more year of Caleb Williams playing on his rookie contract.”

That is where Moore could come in, either directly to the Raiders or to a third team that helps facilitate a deal for Crosby.

According to Jones, the New England Patriots loom as a potential third partner. The Patriots cut Stefon Diggs on Wednesday.

“The former first-round pick is coming off his least productive year of his career,” Jones wrote about Moore. “The Patriots could be a landing spot for Moore if the Bears do a deal involving the receiver, or he could be part of a hypothetical package that goes to a needy Las Vegas team in a deal for Crosby.”

Bears Have Options as New Need Looms Large

This move–or a similar one sending linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to the New York Giants for Kayvon Thibodeaux–would qualify as splashy. They would also be responsible. The Bears would be shedding unwanted salary while addressing a major need.

Of course, center remains a priority with Dalman gone. The Bears have already checked in on Tyler Biadasz and have been linked to Tyler Linderbaum.

Luke Newman, a sixth-rounder in the 2025 draft, is also an option.

After the growth that Williams showed last season, and Dalman’s role in helping that along, there is no doubting that the Bears must replace the pivot with a reasonable facsimile if not an outright upgrade.
