DJ Moore was a polarizing figure for Chicago Bears fans this past season, but he remained a valued member of the team.
His latest message underscores Moore’s stance on his situation.
Once the second-most-prized component of a blockbuster trade, and the Bears’ clear-cut WR1 over his first two seasons in Chicago, Moore faced a new level of competition for his perch in the pecking order and questions about his future in 2025.

DJ Moore Reflects on 2025 Season
Moore just completed his third season with the Bears after spending five campaigns with the Carolina Panthers. It was his winningest season to-date, something he and his coaches noted amid inconsistent usage.
Still, Moore reflected fondly on his eighth season in the NFL.
“Forever Grateful [praying hands and shooting star emojis],” Moore posted on Instagram on February 10, including several photos from the campaign.
Moore, the No. 24 overall pick of the 2018 draft, finished the 2025 regular season with 50 receptions, 682 yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns.
The receptions and yards both set new career lows. He also set a career high with 15 carries, tallying 79 yards (the second-most in a single season of his career) and scoring his second rushing touchdown.
Bears Players Weigh In on DJ Moore
Several of Moore’s Bears teammates flocked to the comment section to express their sentiments of appreciation for the veteran, who has already said that he expects to be back in Chicago next season.
“Biggest bro,” fellow Bears wideout Rome Odunze said.
Bears rookie receiver Luther Burden III, one of three second-round picks by the team in the 2025 NFL Draft, simply put an “ok” emoji.
Similarly, safety Kevin Byard posted a peace sign emoji, most likely in reference to Moore’s jersey number (No. 2) rather than the former Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles star’s pending free agency.
Olamide Zaccheaus said, “moore life moore everything [praying hands emoji].
Rookie tight end Colston Loveland posted, “Deeejayyyy,” and the Bears posted a series of shooting star emojis.
Bears Face Financial Questions
Part of the speculation around Moore’s future involves his $23.5 million cap hit in 2026 and the Bears’ pending salary cap crunch. A trade could alleviate a lot of the Bears’ concerns, but it would weaken their WR room significantly as currently constructed.
There is a more feasible alternative that also keeps Moore in a Bears uniform.
“WR D.J. Moore’s 2026 salary is already fully guaranteed,” Spotrac’s Michael Ginnitti wrote in January. “A simple salary conversion (no void years) can free up $17.4M.”
The Bears can free up another $1.1 million if they add a void year to Moore’s contract. He is signed through 2029 on a four-year, 110 million contract, meaning the Bears are in no way under the gun to get something done.
