Bears Sign Versatile Prospect in Latest Offseason Roster Tweak

Halas Hall, Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears made another adjustment to their roster on Tuesday. The Bears continue to lay the groundwork for the heavy lifting in their offseason plan of attack.

They made a slew of moves last week, after their season came to an end in the NFC Divisional Playoffs against the Los Angeles Rams. They still have more than one month before free agency and two months until the 2026 NFL Draft.

However, like many eliminated teams, the Bears have been active early.

Bears Announce Latest Roster Move With 2nd-Year Prospect

Jamree Kromah Re-Signs to Bears Roster

The Bears announced their latest roster move with a post on X, saying they “signed DL Jamree Kromah to a Reserve/Future contract.”

Kromah, who turns 26 in June, is a second-year former undrafted free agent. He entered the league with the Bears. The New England Patriots claimed Kromah during his rookie season. He returned after New England released him and has been with the Bears ever since.

He has yet to see the field during the regular season.

However, Kromah has played in 5 total tackles in 121 preseason snaps with the Bears. He was always viewed as a project with a ceiling as a rotational player.

“Kromah posted impressive impact production in 2023 after playing a bigger role than he had in the previous four seasons between Rutgers and James Madison,” NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote before the 2024 draft.

“Muscular with very long arms and might have the frame for additional weight to bump inside. Kromah features jarring pop in his hands but might lack enough fluidity and athleticism to capitalize on it as a pro. He’s an effort rusher who is unlikely to create enough consistent pressure to warrant rush-down snaps, but he does have a shot at making the back end of a roster as a base end or future 3-technique.”

The Bears still have a long way to go and plenty of roster moves to make this offseason.
