Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams recently shared kind words from former NFL defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, expressing a desire to see the second-year passer allowed to be himself. Perhaps in response to the unprompted gesture, Williams sent Suh’s kids a gift.
It was a pair of jerseys, and the former Detroit Lions star and Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneer shared a video of the unboxing on his Instagram earlier in the week.
That clip made its way to X, where Williams reposted it.

“Thanks @ayeeecaleb for the jerseys!” Suh posted on his Instagram along with the clip on August 2. “The boys love them! And NGL, kinda makes me want to come out of retirement to get one more sack in on you. 😂 much love!”
Williams shared a still image of Suh’s sons wearing the jerseys.
He also responded to the suggestion that the five-time Pro Bowler unretiring, saying, “Nah mane stay retired [laughing emoji],” Williams captioned the story. “Don’t need that happening.”
Williams has been the subject of and shared other reactions to immense criticism, the kind that often comes with being the No. 1 overall pick of a draft class, and one who also carries a Heisman Trophy-winning pedigree.
He will likely get his first chance to silence his critics in the Bears’ preseason opener.
They will host the Miami Dolphins at Soldier Field after hosting them for a joint practice at Halas Hall.
Bears Get Good News About ‘Monday Night Football’ Matchup
The Bears are making preparations for the Dolphins, and they will face the Buffalo Bills (at home after a joint practice) and the Kansas City Chiefs to wrap up the preseason. However, some of their preparations are undoubtedly going toward their regular-season opener.
They will host the Minnesota Vikings on “Monday Night Football” and will have an advantage, following the NFL’s decision to suspend wide receiver Jordan Addison for three games.
Addison was arrested on suspicion of DUI in July 2024 but pleaded down to “wet reckless.”
He is eligible to return in Week 4. The Vikings are not exactly in disarray, though No. 1 target Justin Jefferson has been sidelined with a hamstring injury in training camp, and top tight end T.J. Hockenson is also navigating an undisclosed issue.
Minnesota has other options they like at receiver, and still have a two-headed attack at running back, but their young quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, will not have his full complement of weapons.
The Bears could also take advantage of an unproven secondary for an aggressive defense.
They should have a size advantage on the perimeter, particularly in base sets, and should have opportunities on the back end if they can withstand the additional pressures Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is sure to dial up.
Bears Shake Up TE Room
The Bears made a roster move on their off day, bringing in former Northwestern tight end Thomas Gordon. Gordon is an undrafted free agent who spent six years in college.
That was partly due to extra eligibility following the COVID-19 pandemic.
He joins a group that includes starter Cole Kmet, rookie first-round pick Colston Loveland, who was listed as a co-starter on the initial depth chart, free agent pickup Durham Smythe, and reserves Joel Wilson and Stephen Carlson.
Gordon takes the place of tight end Jordan Murray, who the Bears waived with an injury designation.
